BRAVE NEW WORLD (2022 until now)
疫情的阴霾，经济的动荡，世界的无序，物质生活的不确定性唤醒了安稳的美梦。生活还在继续，理想与现实的冲突永远存在，我们只有继续抵抗，用艺术来抵抗我们精神的危机。我们在创作中虚构了一个美丽新世界的存在，另一种可能性的存在，创作就像是去寻找和打开一扇扇通往新世界的⼤门，让我们暂时远离现实的未知与恐惧，给予心灵慰藉和精神寄托，重建内心的平静。
《美丽新世界》是刘珂和晃晃2022年开始的一个全新的创作项目。延续相互为对方拍摄，相互在对方镜头前进行表演性影像创作的方式，运用摄影二次曝光叠加影像，和双频道录像呈现。继续用创作来抵抗时间的流逝，现实的虚无，探寻自身与彼此，与万物关系中的更多可能性。我们尝试通过彼此纯粹、共同的创造去打开那扇知觉之门，去感知去体验万物的神圣与无限，从个体视⻆到双重视⻆，展示其中的那些陌生、幻想和偶然，寻找某种永恒的存在。带着问题去直面你的思想，去重新体验世界，等待新事物的诞生，一起进⼊那个真实又虚幻的美丽新世界。
The gloom of the pandemic, the turbulence of the economy, the disorder of the world, the uncertainty of material life have awakened our dreams of stability. Life goes on, the conflict between ideals and reality is eternal, and we can only continue to resist, using art to resist the crisis of our spirit. In our creation, we have imagined the existence of a beautiful new world, another possibility of existence. Creation is like finding and opening doors to a new world, allowing us to temporarily escape the unknown and fear of reality, to provide solace and spiritual sustenance for the soul，and rebuild the calm within.
“Brave New World” is a new creative project started by Liu Ke and Huang Huang in 2022. Continuing the way of taking pictures for each other, performing image creation in front of each other’s lens, using photography to superimpose and reorganize images with double exposure, and presenting with two channel video, they continue to use creation to resist the passage of time, the emptiness of reality, and explore more possibilities in the relationship between themselves and each other, and everything. We try to open the door of perception through our pure and common creation, to perceive and experience the sacredness and infinity of everything, from individual perspective to double perspective, to show those strange, fantastic and accidental things in it, and to find some kind of eternal existence. Face your thoughts with questions, re-experience the world, wait for the birth of new things, and enter that real and illusory brave new world together.

2022年夏天，刘珂和晃晃跨越北回归线来到云南南部，在自然的滋养中重新发现内在的鲜活，体会是非与善恶，选择与改变，欲望与冲突，短暂与永恒。他们在潮湿的雨林与一棵野果树不期而遇，在每天与它相伴的如梦如幻的时光中，通过当地民族古老的传说结合伊甸园的故事，创作了以这棵果树的果实命名的影像作品《曼娘果》。用梦和创作回归最初的乐园，回归曾经的自己，回归自由与冒险的吸引，未知的旅程刚刚开始……
In the summer of 2022, Liu Ke and Huang Huang crossed the Tropic of Cancer to southern Yunnan, rediscovering their inner vitality in the nourishment of nature, experiencing right and wrong, good and evil, choice and change, desire and conflict, transience and eternity. They met a wild fruit tree in the humid rainforest by chance, and in the dreamlike time that accompanies it every day, they created the work “ Forbidden Fruit" named after the fruit of this fruit tree through the ancient legends of the local people and the story of the Garden of Eden. Return to the original paradise with dreams and creations, return to the former self, return to the attraction of freedom and adventure, and the unknown journey has just begun.

2022年春天，刘珂和晃晃以惊蛰时期的春雷惊醒蛰伏的生命为灵感，创作了以尼采的诗句来命名的影像作品《你们可有谁听见?》。在这个没有春天的春天通过创作唤醒自己沉睡的激情，即使春天没有如约而至，灵魂深处的惊雷也足以带来力量，在平凡平淡的周而复始中，对抗残酷，去生长，去绽放……
